In the afternoon, our Advocate took us on a tour of St. Michael's cathedral, St. Sofia's cathedral (though she wasn't really a saint), and along the main street which is closed on weekends for pedestrians.
There is not much in the way of entertainment in Kiev. Everything is spread out. While talking in the van, we were told that a decent hotel runs about $200 a night and you would still have to drive to get anywhere.
Speaking of driving... This is an adventure all in itself. Lane lines seem to be only suggestions for drivers. There is are many, many cars and many, many pedestrians, making for some interesting situations. This, of course is norm for them, but for me it was a bit hairy... and seat belts are optional as well.
After our mini tour, we headed back to the apartment and were on our own until the next day. We spent the time calling home, cooking dinner, a walk, some TV (in Ukrainian, of course) and sleep.
Tomorrow we go to the SDA for our interview.
